Finding out you are pregnant is an exciting time! Whether it is your first baby or your fifth, telling your partner, family and friends can be a very exciting, emotional event. If you are looking for ways to make it even more special, here are a few ideas for announcing a pregnancy.

Depending upon how far along you are into your pregnancy many people get an early ultrasound and use it as a means of announcing a pregnancy. If you are planning on surprising your partner with an ultrasound pic, a cute way of doing so is getting a special frame and putting the ultrasound picture in it and wrapping it up as a gift. You can make a it a special event by giving it to them before dinner or as soon as they get home from work. Be sure to include a special note that has a message from the baby like "Cannot wait to see you!" "Your baby loves you!" or something alone those lines. You can do a similar thing for family members and put it in a cute announcement card and mailing it out or emailing it.

If you already have children getting them involved in announcing your pregnancy can be a lot of fun. One way to do this is to make them a special shirt that says "I'm the Big Brother/Sister" and let them decorate it with paints and glitter. You can surprise your spouse by having your child meet them at the door to greet them and asking them to read their shirt. To surprise family members you can take their picture and send it out as an announcement. Just to make sure they get the message you can include a special note such as "I'm going to be a big brother/sister".

When you plan on announcing your pregnancy at a special occasion such as a family get together, you can really go all out. A fun way to do this is to say you are bringing a special dessert and make or buy a cake and have the news written on it. It is exciting to see as family members and friends walk by and read the exciting news and see their reactions. You can even include something like "A special delivery will be here on" and include your due date.

No matter which way you choose to announce your pregnancy, be sure to take along a camera or camcorder so you can capture people's reactions. These make for great memories and the pictures are a good addition to your baby's baby book!
