In China President Obama meet with leaders to help build a form able relationship with the Chinese Government in which he hopes will help build and strengthen U.S. relations. This is quiet ironic due to the fact that China currently holds over 700 billion dollars of our debt and as many economist predict will more than likely grow larger over the next couple of years. One can only assume after listening to media reports that the only real accomplishment the President achieved was to see a long lost step brother who currently lives in China.
As Obama conducted his infamous town hall meeting in Beijing to which many wanted to view by television and Internet there seemed to be a little difficulty due to, maybe a bad connection? Well let's take a second a think about this, because a second would be all the average person not living in a socialist state would need to see that, yes there was censorship put in place to play down any remarks concerning Freedom of Values or Civil Rights. It was not just the Chinese Government using a little censorship but our own President as well following script by not using words like Human Rights.
Ironically our President a man surely well educated on the displacement of regard for Human Rights in China found one thing in his political arsenal to throw at the Chinese Government. The big topic was (hope your sitting down), the big town hall topic was freedom of the Internet? That's right out of all the major defects in human and civil rights in this country the main topic was Internet freedom. Now as the Leader of a Free Nation do you actually think that a communist and socialist government is going to allow full media and web coverage?
The town hall was broad-casted on one regional channel and out of 300 million Internet user's in China there was reported that about 7,000 were able to actually view or blog about it on the Internet. One can only assume that the Obama Administration is considering this visit a slam dunk.
I know many may not have liked President Bush and I myself did not agree with all of his policies but one thing can be said even if it was with made up on the spot wording or mispronounced wording Bush did not candy coat his speech for the sake of political correctness. I guess though if a country holds the biggest IOU in history on a country we throw away our strong beliefs when we are away from home. Who knows maybe Obama felt more at home there than he does here.
One thing remains true to life regardless of the critics and activists thoughts on China. What ever they are doing seems to be working as far as managing finances because through the whole economic downfall they have hardly been effected. Of course let's give credit where it's due. thanks to the good citizens of our great nation who have kept China's export market in full swing.
