I'm White and I'm Proud
At last someone finally said it!
I have been reading a lot about racism and I am fed up with all of the negative stereotypes of the white race. I know that I am going to get flamed for this before people even read this to the end but that is alright since that will show their ignorance not mine. I am not a retarded skinhead, nor a member of the K.K.K. I am just an American with a mind of my own and these words have hit to home with me.
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. I personally fall into the last category.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You Call me "White Boy," "Cracker," "Honkey," "Whitey," "Caveman"... and that's OK.
But if I call you, Ni**er, K1ke, T0wel head, Sand-ni**er, c@mel J0ckey, Be@ner, G00k, or Ch1nk ... you call me a racist, (I have purposely censored the inflammatory names as I believe all of these names are wrong and have no place in public).
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashanah You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the N.A.A.C.P. You have B.E.T..
If we had W.E.T., (White Entertainment Television) ,... we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day ... you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month ... we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to, "advance", our lives. We'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that?
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... you know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US, yet if there were "White colleges"... that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights thus making you, "Proud". But, if we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride... you call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society ... you call him a racist. (I am not saying that this is only a problem from the other races since there are whites that do the same thing, there are ignorant people in all races)
I am proud. But, you call me a racist.
I guess the point is this: Why is it that only whites can be racists, when everyone else is just proud?

Post a CommentWhile it's valid to be proud of your heritage, whatever this is, I think your mistake is to confuse heritage and race. Race is a tricky concept. Scientifically, races do not exist as they are just a set of features expressed "momentarily" as an adaptative response to the enviroment. For example, it is proved that if a small white group of people moved to central Africa and they only reproduced among them, eventually their offspring skin and eyes color and hair would change adapting to protect them from the intense sun rays and heat. Their history, traditions -kept intact or evolved through time and their struggles to become a succesful society, are called heritage. Heritage is often linked to a society's main features, but it shouldn't be BASED on this. Now, you are white, that's only a link that makes you look like your parents and grandparents, thus giving you a feeling of "belonging" but your heritage is much more than that and it is what you must feel proud about.
The reason why in the United States there are black, arab, hispanic, etc. proud dates but a white proud date would be seen as racist is pretty obvious: Minorities. Being a minority is also linked to an opression feeling. If the "opressors" celebrated a proud date, would be insensitive, don't you think?
Is it fair to whites? Probably not, but it's just the role you were given to play in this time of History. You lead the world, you must be discrete about it, the prize you have to pay.
A side annotation, America is a continent, always keep that in mind.

Thank you. Why shouldn't EVERYBODY have pride in their heritage? It is just political correctness run amok; fostered by politicians who actually hate the very minorities they claim to love so much!
I agree with you and your views. I wish there were more people open on this . As a parent I am doing my best to teach my childern that it is not a crime to be boren white, and to be proud of who we are and where we come from. but since we are wite its seams that is to offensive to people. I wonder if these people get upset with the mexicans and blacks for there pride they have there countries that they dont want to go back to?

Good article. Today in America, not only are all races expected and accepted, even encouraged, to show racial pride. That's all except for the White race. Whenever a White person shows the smallest example of racial pride, we are labeled "Nazi", "hater", and "bigot". There's an obvious double-standard here. I'm sure I myself will even be called a "racist" for writing this little comment.
