Babnew, when a young man goes into a job interview and can't figure out why the cards are against him because of his dress code, that IS affecting his employment opportunities. I went to Florida and saw people sagging on the job. Although it may not be important to you, that makes me wonder why did you click this link in the first place? I don't usually search for items, read entries and comment on things when I want to "focuse [sic] on things that matter." I was talking about guys I'm attracted to. That matters to me. It doesn't have to matter to you. And no, "yhe [sic] negative out of sagging" has not disappeared. If it had, all of these laws wouldn't have been implemented.

I think our generation has taken yhe negative out of sagging, and has made it fade. Sagging is not a negative thing, it not jusr associated with gangs or prison at this point. There are so many more IMPORTANT this for us to be concered about as it relates to our young generation......education, sports in high school, abuse and neglect ect. I'm a very educated responsible adult and I like a little slack to my jeans, shorts ect...... Lets focuse on things that matter.

DaQuade, why is it necessary to sag around the house, in public, or at parties?

  • DaQuade Wright4/13/2010

I do not totaly agree with you because I sagg but i do it around the houes in public and @ partys but not to church and job interviews. So I agree but @ the same time I dont agree.

My comment is only to say I have never understood why our young men want to walk around with their pants hanging below the 35th parallel. As a product of the 50s we were taught to dress for success, if our childern desire to dress as if there is no tomorrow and just living in the moment as they get older they will relize that sagging is just a fad. My point is how old will they be when they relize becausae of their dress no one will hier them. either they will conform or stay leaning on someones elses mail box. raper are intertainers and sagging is part of their costume, when they are at home with their familes they are dress apporately. pants pulled up, belt in place.lets be more postive for the young generation. We wore Hot Pants, Haulter tops, and low riding bellbottoms jeans the difference is we knew when to ware such clothing. I would not ware a pare of lowriding jeans to an interview. our society is based on the way things look, not what it actually is.

www.myspace and myspace, I'm guessing this is the same person. You do make some interesting points. I do believe that someone at home needs to tell these guys (or girls) about how sloppy it looks. I do wish police would pay more attention to the growing crime rate than sagging. I'm indifferent to the idea of fining people for sagging, but just from a grown woman's perspective, it reflects badly on the guy. I can't take this dude home to meet my parents or to a company event if he's dressed like his only purpose in life is to lean on a mailbox or walk the block.

Dada, I'm not even trying to be funny, but I'm noticing a pattern of misspelled words and just random talking with just about everybody who is supporting sagging. That's when stereotypes come into play. People equate sloppiness in dress with lack of intelligence. Yes, there are other cultures who sag, but that doesn't make it any better to look at. What is your definition of swagger?
