Imagine the Possibilities - Rethinking Job Loss

AB
Losing a job is a really tough event to go through. It impacts your life, your mental health, your family, your ability to pay basic expenses, and your attitude about working. With all these feelings building it up, it is hard to imagine a light at the end of the tunnel. Read on to find out why there is hope for everyone after losing a job.

Did you ever think that something positive would come of losing your job? Often, a major event like the loss of your job occurs as a catalyst for some future change. This important event is helping you to start on a new road that may hold better possibilities.

Remember this saying- when one door closes another one opens. Or, when God closes a door, he opens a window. The great part about life is that these sayings are really true. Now that you've lost your job (and the slow economy is making it difficult to find a new one), it is time to take stock of your life.

You've been through the end of something, and life may not show you right away what new promises are coming. Your job is to enjoy this precious time while you have it. There is plenty of time to look for jobs. Focus on that activity for part of your day. Use the rest of the day to focus on something else. Here is a story of what might happen.

You're down in the dumps because your job is gone. You sit down on the computer and seek out ways to earn money at home. You find an opportunity for a new business. It requires no startup money, just Internet access. After spending a few hundred hours of time over three months at home, you contemplate giving up or cutting back on the time you devote to the new business because you are discouraged. Suddenly, out of nowhere, business starts picking up. First, it is a slow trickle. Then the money starts rolling steadily in. You are not an overnight success. You have not found a get-rich quick scheme. You are just making money like other entrepreneurs using your skills.

Apparently, this is the job that you were meant to do. You no longer have the stress of working for a large company. Now think about this. If you hadn't lost your job, would you be enjoying the lifestyle of the self-employed, work-at-home professional now?
