Imajine That is an indoor play area located in the Riverwalk Building on the second floor of 354 Merrimack Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts. My 22-month-old son and I found ourselves here this morning with our Mom's group. We left absolutely exhausted (from chasing the kids around!) and our children couldn't have been more thrilled. This is definitely the place to be!

You walk onto the second floor and there are coat hangers and nooks for your shoes just as you open the door. The bathrooms are located across the way from where you are able to hang your coats. There are two bathrooms, each with it's own baby changing station. You then walk through a separate door that takes you into the playspace itself. There is a desk directly to your left where you pay for your child/children to play. Prices are as follows:

Children who are ages 3 and up are $8.95.
Children ages 1 to 2 are $6.95.
Children under the age of 1 are free if they are with a sibling. If they are alone, then the cost is $2.95.
Parents get in free.

There are also group rates, but you'll need to call ahead. This is perfect for the Mom's group wanting a fun-filled day with the children.

There are also memberships available for $149.00 for one child with a ten percent discount for any other siblings.

Once you pay, you're one your way! Imajine That has so much to offer children. There is a very large inflatable bounce structure. I didn't think I'd be able to get my son out of this, he was having so much fun! There is a puzzle nook, a pretend play nook, there are ride-on cars. There is also an area for infants/toddlers that has some soft play toys, smaller cars/bikes, and a small slide among other things. There is an area where you can have a puppet show along with a dog house and large stuffed animals. There is an arts and crafts area where you can help yourself to supplies such as paint with smocks, crayons, glue with feathers, pom poms, Popsicle sticks, and pipe cleaners. You can then hang your work to dry on the drying rope while you continue to play. One last thing to mention was the large play structure in the shape of a dinosaur. My son enjoyed this very much, but it's geared towards slightly older children. I had to go in the structure along with my son to make sure he was safe. There are cushions all around in case a child falls. There are stairs and ropes to climb (very safe). There are three very fast slides, and tunnels to just simply climb in on this dinosaur structure.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the area. I did notice lots of hand prints on the bounce structure, but with all the children playing there, I can't imagine it would be easy to keep everything clean all the time. The toys looked to be in very good condition and there wasn't a lot of dirt or staining to be found on the floors.

If you find yourself to be hungry, there is an area partitioned off for eating. They have a policy for you to refrain from bringing your own food, but you are able to purchase food from their kitchen. Most of the food was priced around $2.00. There are choices such as mac and cheese, pizza, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and snacks such as chips and nutra grain bars. There are also highchairs that can be used for the younger children.

Imajine that opens at 9:00 and closes at 5:00 with the exception of Fridays where they stay open until 8:00. I was initially thinking that it was a bit on the pricey side to get in, but after the fun that my son had and the fact that you can stay for the entire day if you choose to do so, I've since changed my mind. I would absolutely pay this amount again to see the smiles on my son's face the way I did today. And in the winter time, Imajine That proves to be a great outlet for his energy!
