Immigrants Capitalize on Small Business

Immigrants Spice Up the Neighborhood

Leanna Teague
Immigrants come to America seeking refuge from war zone countries or for a chance to get in on an enriching life. They want in on the American dream that you can come from nothing and find success and fortune in whatever you choose to do. If it were so easy to gain great wealth in America as what is rumored in other countries then all Americans would be rich.

Still immigrants come with high hopes of a prosperous new life. Disheartened by cheaply paying jobs immigrants might find the US economy isn't what they thought it would be. It's downright impossible to break into the high paying jobs without having someone on the inside to vouch for you.

What's the best way to cash in on America if you don't want to work in minimum wage poverty level jobs? Become an entrepreneur. Immigrants can build a business that will flourish by selling products or food items such as what they would find back home. Immigrants from the same country living in the US will find it comforting to be able to purchase goods they grew up on from their homeland. It can help established immigrants wishing to pass down traditions of their country keep them alive in the generations of their children.

Marketing items catered to a specific country not only brings in customers from the same nationality, but Americans are fascinated by the diversity of other origins and have the potential to become long-standing frequent customers. You see how this happens in restaurants. An immigrant serving foods that would be eaten where they are from pulls in crowds because they offer food you can't get just anywhere. Food that is traditional in native countries is a big seller here in the states.

Many entrepreneur immigrants who have created booming businesses from scratch will pass it along to their kids. Leaving behind a second generation to continue with the family business. The second generation may wish to keep it in the family by allowing only family members to run shop or they can choose to hire outside help creating more jobs to boost the American economy. In essence, immigrants keep America rich in culture and tradition that renews the spirit inside us all. They teach us that we can find the American dream as they did if we seek out different avenues to get there. We just might have to try a little harder.
