This years Impact Player team was very difficult to attain for the two-man crew. TheFanNJ did most of the work and it was hard with the program having budget crises. The top of the list is Mr. Impact Player himself Will Hill III, and this kid is Impact Player's Icon. Hill, hit the century mark on TD's and excitement, and his play opened doors for others to get some spotlight. Kevin Watson, is second on the list and he takes home with him the states top passing yards for the second year in a row. Watson is what the Impact Player award is about, which is finding those that other recruiting boards haven't. Carlo Calabrese has been a standout on this list coming into his senior year, and hasn't let the Impact Status fall. Brandon Smith, man he is a dandy: a dual threat player that can get it done on the field. He helped his team in his junior year to a state championship title, and nearly did it again in his senior year.
Art Frost is a force to remember, and to think a lineman came this far on a skills players list mean. This guy's talent is money in the bank, and cream of the crop. J.B. Fitzgerald, where ever you go you heard is tire tracks; this hard hitting linebacker is the best senior linebacker in the state: Hands Down. He will make impact plays on defense in the kicking game on demand, so get your DVR's ready because when he makes a hit you will need live instant replay. Desmond Bates: his value with Hoboken will not be taken seriously because of the school size; the schedule, the lack of offensive production - but him playing defense will strike; "Whoa" in your eyes. He does things that make people say: "How can one person do that on defense?" In football you are only looked at by what you do on offense, but Desmond has been a terrorist on defense.
Tony Jones: he has been that player that was so special for the Ironmen in Ramsey. He is noted for show closing events, and championship greatness. Tony Jones, know how to perform in center stage when the competition is better than average. He has been the shining star in all of Don Bosco's state championship victories. Nyshier Oliver: What can you not say about this kid. He took under the tutelage of Will Hill, and flips the spotlight to him. Making it harder to appreciate what Hill did with out Oliver stealing some of the funk. Dillion Romain: Well, Dillion has been the backbone of the running machine in Ramsey all season long. He was the reason why they got to the title game, but Jones had the better-looking plays. Dillion is a junior and he maybe a nice change of pace back in the next level because he will wait for his blocks.
Matt Sheard: Oh' my God! He is the best senior linebacker I have seen out side of J.B. He has the speed, the size, the talent, and most importantly the football knowledge. Where ever he goes is a blessing, and those that missed on him had their eyes closed. If you don't know he is 6'2 235lbs out of Camden Catholic NJ.
Rounding off the impact player list is M.Colvin, A. Blake, G.Germinario, A. Baskerville, R. Graham, K. Alston, D. Miller, M. Matola, Corry Willis, and Brain Hanly. Corry Willis is a talent that can get it done in an offense built to pass. He has sure hands but is number will not show how good his hands really are, and at 6'2 170lbs, this type of talent shouldn't be ignored. Brain Hanly, is a kicker, and to make this list as a kicker just shows you how talented that bosco team really was compared to the rest of the state.
