Imperioli Will Get Emmy Nod for Supporting Role on The Sopranos

Dana Barnett
There are five different actors vying for the Emmy for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series." The five men nominated represent five very different television shows on which each of these actors showcase their exceptional talents.

The nominees in the category of "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" are as follows:

William Shatner as Denny Crane on Boston Legal

T.R. Knight as George on Grey's Anatomy

Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura on Heroes

Michael Emerson as Ben on Los"

Michael Imperioli as Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos

William Shatner is a part of television history, and his role on the legal drama Boston Legal proves that he is still part of the game. Shatner has been nominated for an Emmy Award four times in the past. In 1999, Shatner was nominated in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his guest role on 3rd Rock From the Sun. In 2004, he was nominated and won the Emmy in the category of "Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series" for his role on The Practice. Shatner was also nominated in the category of "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" for his work on Boston Legal in 2005 and 2006. He took home the Emmy Award in 2005.

T.R. Knight has never been nominated for an Emmy award. This year's nomination is his first. He has been nominated for two other entertainment awards along with his fellow castmates from "Grey's Anatomy." Knight has been playing the character of George on Grey's Anatomy since 2005.

Masi Oka has been playing the character of Hiro Nakamura on Heroes since 2006. This year marks Oka's first Emmy nomination for his performance. However, he has been nominated for a Golden Globe and several other entertainment awards.

Michael Emerson has been nominate for an Emmy once before. In 2001, Emerson was nominated in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his work on "The Practice." He won the Emmy that year. Emerson has been playing the role of Ben on Lost since 2004.

Michael Imperioli has been appearing as Christopher Moltisanti on the hit show The Sopranos since 1999 and he has been nominated for an Emmy four different times over the past eight years for his performance. In 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2006, Imperioli has been nominated in the category of "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series." He won the Emmy award in 2004.

And the winner is...

The expert's predict that The Sopranos will sweep the Emmys this year and according to them, the winner of the "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" Emmy will also be a Sopranos cast member. I also agree with the experts, so it seems that Michael Imperioli will take home another Emmy on Sunday night.
