Importance of Using the Trial Version of Microsoft Office Suite 2010

Microsoft has come out with yet another version of Office Suite and this one is called 2010. The previous version was 2007 and came with a lot of changes over it's previous version. Many faithful users of Microsoft Office Suites didn't want to upgrade to the 2007 version but those that did soon learned the ropes in the 2007 version. The 2010 version comes with just as many drastic changes that could throw the users off the course of sanity yet again. That is why you should use the trial version of Microsoft Office for Windows before purchasing the full version.

Microsoft changed one of the features that people tended to originally hate the most about the 2007 version. Those who upgraded to the 2007 version soon got used to the round, bubble button in the upper left hand corner of the screen in Office Suite programs. This "bubble" was where you went to save, open or find files. It was annoying at first but it soon made more sense to us. The 2007 Office Suite soon became our friend rather than what we viewed as an enemy.

Some of the changes in the Microsoft Office Suite programs include:

No More Bubble- The "bubble" is gone in the 2010 version of Microsoft Office. In fact, there is nothing resembling the "bubble" in the 2010 version of Microsoft Office. There is no replacement for it. It simply disappeared. If you have grown accustomed to the 2007 Office "bubble", you may not want to upgrade. Test run the 2010 version of Microsoft Office first to see if you can get used to it.

Excel- The drop down menu that you get when you left click on a cell in Microsoft Office Excel 2010 is a bit different as well. Instead of getting just the words choices, you will also be faced with a few icons underneath the save option. You have to choose one of those icons and this could take some getting used to. The assumption is that Microsoft was trying to make the drop down menu less bulky. The big problem is that the icons aren't easily recognized and that makes more work for users because they have to no memorize what the icons are rather than just clicking on the words. It won't affect those who use the keyboard shortcuts to save. When you use the little icons, you will notice that after you click on them, it doesn't appear that anything really happened. This can be a little confusing for those who are working on long spreadsheets with multiple cells with the exact same information.

The Appearance- The appearance of the Microsoft Office Suite 2010 program screens is rather dull. The 2007 and previous versions had a fairly cheerful background. The 2007 Office Suites used blue. The 2010 Microsoft Office Suites doesn't have the blue background color. Microsoft, for some reason, has decided to go with a drab gray color. This may not bother you if you don't use the programs often, but if you are one of the people that spends a huge portion of their day using the Microsoft Office Suite programs, it might bother you more than you think. Having to look at the background all day long may be enough to drive you a little batty in the new gray color. It looks just like any other generic word processing or spreadsheet program rather than the powerful tool that it is.

These are just three of the changes that you will come across in Microsoft Office Suite 2010. The changes are very drastic, yet again and only appear to be where they placed certain older features and of course the disastrous color change of the background. It is very important that you give Microsoft Office 2010 a test run in the trial version before you purchase the full version. It could save you a lot of money.
