Important Characters in the Harry Potter Series

Over the span of the Harry potter series numerous characters have shown up and departed. This is a list of the major characters in the book to know before reading Harry potter and the deathly hallows.

Harry Potter-Harry is the main character of the series. He is a teenage boy who is destined to either be killed by or kill Lord Voldemort. Lord Voldemort killed his parent and tried to kill him as a boy, he failed because Harry's mother gave her life for him and instead left Harry with a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead.

Ronald Weasley- One of harry's best friend, he is the same age, a few months older to be precises. He has read hair and his considerably tall. He is apart of the Weasley family and has six siblings and a set of parents who harry is extremely close to.

Hermione Granger: Harry's other best friend, she is again of the same age and is an excellent witch excelling in all her subjects. She is very academic and often can be found explaining girls to harry and ron. She is very couragous and caring.

Albus Dumbledore: The deceased headmaster of hogwarts scool of witchcraft and wizadry. He was murdered by severus snape at the end of the sixth book and was an outstanding wizard of great intelligence. Some feel he has another part to play in the final book.

The Dursleys: Vernon and Petulia Dursley are Harrys' uncle and aunt. They have an obese son called Dudley who is a bully. Every summer harry stays with them as dumbledore says that they offer harry a great protection as lord voldemort cannot do him harm there be cause aunt petunia has harrys mothers blood. This protection however will end when harry comes of age (17) and harry will be visiting the dursleys for his last stay at the beginnin of the last book.

Sirius Black: Sirius was James Potters' best friend and is harrys godfather. He was falsy convicted of kiling several people and being a death eater. He was jailed for over 10 years and finally escaped in the third book. Harry found out he was his godfather at the end of this book.

Severus Snape: Is the potions master at hogwarts. He turned spy for the order of the pheonix (an organisation set u to fight Voldemort) and in the ned betreayed albus dumbledore by murdering him. Where his loyalty lies is set to be a major theme for the final book.

Lord Voldemort: An evil wizard corrupt and absessed with becoming immortal. He is feared by all the magical community and has a band of followers known as death eaters to do his work. It is said in a prophecy about he and harry that neither can live while the other one is alive meaning one is destined to kill the other. He is the evil character in the series.

Peter Petigrew: Alos known as wormtail, peter was a friend to harrys father, james potter and god ftaher, sirius black. He betrayed harrys parents to voldemort and they were killed. In the third book harry saves his life and sumbledore says that wormtail will be in harrys debt and will one day have to save his life.
