Important Information About Cyber Harassment

Dan
It is unfortunate that in modern times the internet and cellphone are common tools for bullies to stalk, threaten, embarrass, or otherwise harass their victims. Cyber bullying is a very common factor in teenage suicide.

Cyber harassment certainly is a parent's worst nightmare as it is common for the victims to cause harm themselves as a result. There is new research which states that certain health problems are linked to cyberbulling and the victims. In addition to this, workplace bullying is linked to poor sleep and it can actually be worse than sexual harassment.

Schools will sometimes try to put a stop to cyber bullying. However, they are often sued when they try to get involved by disciplining the student for cyber bullying that takes place off-campus since they exceed their authority and violated the student's right to free speech.

It doesn't take an article like this to know that cyber bullying is harmful at different levels. If you or someone you know is being cyber bullied, it shouldn't be a matter of luck to get you out of it. You can use this form at wiredsafety.org to report cyber harassment. You should contact law enforcement for more dangerous situations.
