Impossibilities

Can you stop the wind from blowing?
or stop the waves upon the shore?
Can you stop the rain from falling?
can you stop a lion's roar?
Can you stop the earth from quaking?
can you yield the lava's flow?
Can you change the ocean's tide?
can you stop the firefly's glow?

Can you stop a caterpillar
from becoming a butterfly?
Can you stop the sun from rising?
can you make a rock comply?
Can you stop the pounding of my heart,
when I see you smile?
Can you stop the flow emotions show,
when you've been away awhile?

Some things in this world
just can't be overcome.
Some things in this life
just cannot be done.
I can't stop the world from turning,
