Impossibility

Robert Whitis
Exhausted and yet unspent,
Tossing and turning,
Nowhere to vent,
There you are once again,

Ransacking my thoughts,
Tugging my heart strings,
Unintentionally of course,
Our feelings unconfessed,

Although ever present,
Awakening both literally and to the realization,
Considering making a crazy trip,
Yet it was too late,

For you have returned home,
Even though you never made it here,
Never again to leave,
You left ago one sixth of a year,

And I was none the wiser,
Of the plans you left unsaid,
I wonder why now you have come to me,
My heart still questioning impossibility.
