Impressive Party Desserts

If you're on your way to a party or barbecue, you may want to take heed: Your reputation may be at stake. Why? Well, if you've been asked to bring some type of covered dish, it better look and taste good. If it doesn't, your reputation is going down the tubes. What's the best type of dish to bring? A dessert. You just can't go wrong with desserts. Desserts are usually very easy to make. You don't have to worry about overdoing or undergoing any seasonings, and everyone loves desserts.

But here's the thing: You just can't bring any old dessert to a party or barbecue. Your dessert has to be impressive. Here's what meant by impressive when it comes to desserts. The dessert should be colorful, and it should look bountiful. By bountiful, I mean that the dessert should seem like it's just endless. There just is no bottom of the dessert bowl.

Here are some examples. If you're trying to make an impressive dessert for a barbecue, try something cool that goes with the warm weather outside. For instance, you may want to try a dessert that's based on cool whip or pudding. You could try homemade banana pudding or Watergate salad. Watergate salad is a dessert that's made with pistachio pudding, walnuts, mini marshmallows, pineapples, a tub of cool whip and pineapple chunks. Mix everything together. Refrigerate it, and before you know it, you have the perfect impressive party dessert. It's delicious.

Another dessert that's colorful and based on cool whip is something called fruit pizza. To make a fruit pizza dessert, you first need to get an 18oz package of refrigerated cookie dough. Place the dough on a greased pan and pat it out in the shape of a large pizza. Put the oversized cookie in the oven for about 10 minutes and take out and let cool. While it's cooling, slice up strawberries, kiwi and place some blueberries into a separate bowl.

Then, mix up a package of cream cheese with an average-sized tub of whipped cream. After the cookie has cooled, spread the cream cheese/whipped cream mixture on top and carefully place a circle of strawberries on top of the whipped cream mixture, then a circle of kiwi, then a circle of blueberries, and then repeat. Before you know it, you'll have beautiful, colorful and delicious dessert. Everyone will wonder what it's made of, and no one will suspect you used a sugar cookie.

These two deserts are not only impressive, but they are also unique.

In general, remember this: Impressive desserts don't need to be pricey, but they have to catch your eye. Color is key. Make sure the desert tastes really good and you're on your way to getting a great reputation.
