However, there are points that you have to consider. First, there is absolutely no right or wrong study habit. Each individual is unique in finding the study habit that will work for him. For example, your study habit may not work with that of your friend. The point, however, is to find out the study habit that works best for you.
Also, you are solely responsible for finishing your homework and projects and passing your exams. And all these come back to developing a great and effective study habit.
Truth is, learning is not really that hard. In order for you to focus, understand, and remember what you have read the night before, follow these easy yet effective tips on how to improve your study habits:
1. Concentrate. Don't do other things while studying like watching TV or talking on the phone with a friend. Others may prefer studying with music on, but make sure the volume is not too loud to distract you from reading.
2. Set a specific time for studying. Make sure that the time you set for it is the best time you can absorb and understand what you are reading and with the least distractions that would possibly appear.
3. In order to prepare for a big test, take down important notes as you go along your reading. When you're done reading, review all the notes you've taken and memorize, if needed.
4. Read your books or notes everyday. Even if you don't have exams or homework, take a few minutes to review your notes, especially with the topics you find the hardest. This way you can always be prepared with the next day's discussion.
5. Designate a specific place or space for your reading or studying like a desk in your room or a place in the dining room. You can also opt to study in the library of your school if there is no available place in your house,
6. Read in advance. Do not come to class without getting familiar with the day's discussion. This will prepare you for whatever is planned for the day's class, whether it's a recitation or a surprise exam.
7. If you need help, don't be ashamed to ask for help. A lot of persons are out there that are willing to help you. You may also opt to join study groups and learn so much more than what you already know.
