Yoga, long considered to provide healthy therapeutic benefits to the mind, body and spirit, has been shown to go one step beyond in curing a variety of ailments, including skin disorders.
So, how does yoga impact our skin tone? Through the process of stabilizing the nervous system, decreasing pulse rate and decreasing respiration and blood pressure, skin disorders associated with redness in the skin will realize an improvement in that redness with regular yoga sessions.
In addition, yoga improves the alpha and delta wave responses in the body, thus leading to a better quality of sleep, thereby resolving the skin disorders associated with sleep; bags, puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.
Your immune response system will also net an improvement from yoga which will, in turn, promote healthy responses to skin's exposure to bacterial and fungal infections. Yoga may also stimulate the usefulness of vitamin C in the body, providing for protection for protection from a variety of ailments that may alter body temperature, thereby reducing the risk for redness in the face or even a pallor complexion attributed to disease.
Yoga is believed to improve biochemical responses in the body, leading to more controlled blood glucose levels, a decrease in sodium in the tissues and more control over the processing of cholesterol levels. Because each of these factors, when not controlled, can lead to greater incidences of acne breakout and edema, with yoga, you can improve these complications and reduce the risk for long term scarring and deterioration of the pores.
With sun damaged skin, many adults seek out beauty products that may promote and restore serum protein in the skin. With yoga, there is a biochemical response which naturally increases the serum protein in the body and, thus, is a natural anti-aging method for reversing into a more youthful appearance.
As with any health and fitness regimen, becoming familiar with not only the physical benefits but also the spiritual and psychological benefits is important to gaining the optimal outcome from the program. If you are an individual who suffers from skin disorders, such as rosacea and acne, consider yoga as a natural way in which to resolve the skin disorders and also tone skin and reduce the signs of pores.

Post a CommentThanks for sharing this info. I suffer with acne and get frustrated with trying to different treatments that seem to make matters worse.
this is really some great information.
I started Bikram yoga about 2 months ago and I am breaking out on my shoulders and back and even in weird spots like the backs of my knees! I will not give up yoga, but I can't stand the breakout! I am 31, healthy vegetarian, and have not been breaking out prior to beginning hot yoga. I have not been to a Bikram class in about 22 days, but I practice at my home on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica where it is hot enough to make me sweat as much as I did in class. What can I do to get rid of it? Will it go away on it's own after awhile? I am pretty sure it is just toxins exiting my body, but I consume toxins every single day, just from eating the produce here.....they use pesticides on everything. What can I do?
what types of yogic exercises tho
Nice explanation of the benefits of yoga.
