As people grow old, they tend to gain more weight because they have lost the appetite to exercise. This can often be attributed to lower physical exercise at a time when physical exercise for seniors is more important than ever (source). Even dieticians of the ancient times believe that people who watch television, especially those in their old age, have the tendency overeat. Pharmaceutical companies have been awash with cash because diet pills and similar products have become the fad not only of modern people but also of those who want to look sexy, with the concept of sexy being a skinny body, a product of advertising. Weight loss has become so important to them.

Others are also told to tap the services of experts, spending the bulk of their pension funds on diet pills and exercise machines just to achieve weight loss. The weight loss industry has become a billion dollar sector in business because old people, and even the young ones who are vain, have patronized it.

But because metabolism slows down as a person grows old, it is very hard for older people to go into weight loss process. Even with the advent of technology has not had much help on their bout against weight.

But the same scientists also theorized that the mindset to achieve weight loss really helps. This is among the most fundamental mechanisms that will help an ageing individual reduce his weight.

Is there a direct relationship between weight loss and ageing? It may remain to be seen, but the fact is weight loss can reduce the possibility of dying young.
