Improving My Performance Payments on Associated Content

With a Little Effort Associated Content Can Bring in a Nice Passive Income

TM
I have been a member of Associated Content since May of 2006. When I first joined, I had a great to say, so I wrote often. That was also during that time that almost every article published received even a small amount of pay and I did pretty well. Then things changed and the offers became lower and some work Associated Content no longer paid anything to publish.

At the time I didn't like the idea of Associated Content not paying for my work or at least my perception of not being paid. The performance payments were new and didn't seem like I would get much out of it and in the beginning; I didn't get as much as I would like but it was nice every couple of months to find a performance bonus in my Paypal account. In the summer of 2007, I started to drop off with my writing and really didn't do much with Associated Content until a few weeks ago. I had thought due to my inactivity that Associated Content has quit paying the bonus, only to discover I simply needed to verify my account and within a few days I had money in my Paypal for my performance bonus of the past several months which added up to about 50 USD. Not a bad deal for not even opening up my Associated Content account in months. It finally began to dawn on me; the more writing I have on Associated Content the more "passive" income I can earn from Associated Content. It didn't take much to increase my page views in less than a month.

I wrote an article that I felt the need to write, passed it on to friends and family and posted it to my Facebook account. Last months count was a little over 8,000 views this month I have over 9,000 views.

I started researching other articles about increasing my performance payments on Associated Content and found some articles helpful and others not so realistic. One person suggested writing eight articles per day. Given I am a small business owner and I have this thing called a life didn't really strike me as realistic. I decided for myself that one article per week was not only realistic but a good way to keep that writing muscle that I have ignored for a bit too long to build itself up again.

Others suggested using social networking to their advantage. I have not found a downside to this suggestion. Most people are on at least one social networking site and most have several people on their friends list. It's a good way to post links or widgets to your page without being pushy with others to read them.

There are some yahoo groups as well as some forums that offer a place to post your Associated Content links for others to read but I find those to be a little too tedious for my taste though it's not a bad idea for those who have the time.

Of course, I needed ideas about what to write on a weekly basis. I looked at Associated Content's "Assignment Desk" and found a topic that I had some knowledge. I claimed it and will use that as my article for the week. If I decide to write more in a week, that is great, but at least now I have one topic.

Other ideas that I decided to look at are product reviews, book and music reviews and anything that might be on my mind that week that I want to discuss.

If you find yourself floundering with Associated Content or frustrated with your low performance payments you can increase your traffic with very little effort. Make good use of the things you already do everyday to promote your content and write an occasional article on something that really inspires and see what happens.

I'll write a follow up to this article next month with the results of my efforts and share any tips I learn along the way.
