Perhaps your ego needs be burned
I'll shatter windows in your soul
and lock the doors, trapping you
inside the closet of yourself
Can you hear the world outside?
An entire life lived out in moments -
hear it!
Know that the whole world spins,
though you want so bad to stop it.
But, once again, I will wake you from this dream.
Once again, I will not let you drown.
Once more, I will wash blood from your hands, knowing
I will bleed on them again. Somehow.
Perhaps a lesson needs be learned
Perhaps I deserve to be burned
So many windows shattered in my soul
I'll keep letting people lock my doors,
aware of their life on the other side....
