So many lives have been lost,
and so much damage has been done
that healing will take a long time
while time feels like eternity
because the enormity of this
will not disappear in a week.
Our heroes are fighting to live.
Children are struggling to dream.
This world breathes in turmoil,
hoping for a helping hand,
and what we take for granted,
the water that fills our veins,
the essence of life
is denied to those
wishing for what we had.
We need to remember.
Remember those we love and know,
those still here or now gone,
and remember that we live for them.
This is our world,
and we cannot walk blind.
So, open your heart,
and listen.
Listen to the world.
Our heroes are calling.
Children are wishing.
Water are the tears still shed,
but we can end their crying.
So, open your hand.
Humanity is only a breath
so sweetly savored
when we remember
that we are human
and we are more
when we give,
thank life for all we are given,
for those that changed lives forever.
We answer the call.
We change the world
in need.
and so much damage has been done
that healing will take a long time
while time feels like eternity
because the enormity of this
