In Between

Tye Martin
I looked back and saw a woman crying,
Many wailing sounds like someone was dying.
What was happening was my very concern,
For it was my funeral soon that I learned.
Very shocked and to my surprise,
My soul had ascended now to rise.
In complete shock I choked on my breath,
For I do not remember whence came my death.
How did it happen? How did I die?
I have to remember, I have to try.
I screamed and yelled to get their attention,
Unknown was my presence for no one to mention.
Soon came a light shining down on me,
Then came a voice saying,"come and see"
Come and see what I have planned for you,
Just trust my child though you have no clue.
Your job here is done and taken care of,
Your family will always have your love.
I will feel their emptiness once again,
Their pain I will ease and hearts I will mend.
I would miss my family, but had no choice,
I waited and debated, then came the voice,
Come my child we must now go,
Many things to see, and so much to know.
With God assuring me my family's restoration,
I walked toward the light with no hesitation.
I saw a heavenly figure suddenly appear,
With a voice so sweet and presence so dear.
The connection was complete walking hand and hand,
As we disappeared into the eternal land.

It is so vivid in my mind. Reminding me that death is not the end of everything. Solid poem indeed. :-)

This is wonderful...I pray that I have enough faith, hope, and charity.

I hope this is how things work. Faith, hope and charity are supposed to be the trinity. I have the hope and charity, maybe one day the faith? -- Mike
