In Defense of Lady Gaga: A Tongue Lashing for Katy Perry the 'Christian'
Katy Perry Seems Hell Bent on Claiming to Be a Christian and Acting Just the Opposite for a Buck
Katy Perry's Version of Christianity Not in the Bible
It would be wonderful to actually see a singer or performer who was so good at their craft they didn't have to rely on gimmicks like stripping or claiming a religious faith they don't have in order to sell a record or a movie. But, alas, Katy Perry isn't that performer, as evidenced by her continuous need to flaunt just how 'un-Christian' she really can be: nude photos in 2009 and again in 2010, as well as attacking another singer from her supposed moral religious high ground.
Katy Says Gaga Use of Religious Object Blasphemous
In mid June Katy targeted another performer who gets extreme: Lady Gaga. But Lady Gaga at least doesn't run around claiming to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as she dredges up publicity by wearing her underwear in public to NY games (more silly than shameful, as bathing suits show much more than her underwear did) or cavorting on stage with symbols.
Lady Gaga doesn't claim to be a Christian and she doesn't act like one. She doesn't have to. And at least she is more honest than Katy Perry. If Gaga wants to run around half naked (although she was more covered up in NY than people on nude beaches in France), or roll around in front of a mosque-like structure in a video it's her choice.
Gaga doesn't claim to be a follower of Islam or Christianity. If she chooses to misuse Christian or Islam 'symbols' in her concerts, it is her choice (God gave her the ability to choose him or the world). But Katy Perry should butt out. It isn't her place to question what another performer does. She is doing enough controversial things herself, under the pretension she actually is a 'Christian.'
Bearing Your Breasts Not a Christian Commandment
Katy Perry tells everyone who will listen that she grew up a Christian. I know a lot of people who say that but they never seemed to get what that meant. Someone should enlighten the young singer that there are ten commandments and bearing your breast to sell an album isn't one of them.
Running down another performer isn't one of them either, Ms. Perry. So if you really want to claim to be a Christian stop doing un-Christlike things first before you cast stones at Ms. Gaga. Katy Perry's behavior is the more blasphemous to the name of Christ, unfortunately, than Lady Gaga.

Out for controversy, that's sure. No shortage of that.
Jesus said it best, Sherri: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Yep, nothing like a hypocrite is there? I experienced that myself this weekend..Katy Perry has no more right to throw stones than anyone else in this world.
