The police were still searching for the driver but Sarah knew it would only be for a few more weeks maybe months and they would stop searching. They always did her father told her, when they didn't know where to begin. She felt angry and sad all at the same time because Jordan was taken from her. Now she had to find a way to take care of this child by herself. Of course she would have help from her parents, but it wouldn't be the same. She was always an independent person and she didn't want the fact that she would be a single mother to keep her from being independent. She would find a way to support her child. She kept walking with her mom beside her and suddenly stopped. She was having painful contractions and her mother called for the nurse. They quickly wheeled her to the room and laid her down on the bed.
Jason put his clothes in the locker and headed towards the gym. At the gym, he started to do bench presses and pull ups. Just then Ned a friend of his, came by and said "Hey Jason I found this notebook in the back with sketches of animals, people, and nature inside. Is this yours? Jason took the notebook and looked at it. Yes it was his, he had drawn picture of a waterfall on the front cover of the notebook with the initials JP on them. "Nah. But let me get it. I'll look for who it belongs to." Jason said as he extended his hand. Ned looked at him and wondered when he would come clean about making those sketches. They were seniors already. Old enough to make their opinions and stick to them regardless of who shared their opinions or not. Ned knew since the day of the accident, that Jason had started to draw. But he handed the notebook and pretended as if he didn't know anything until Jason was ready to tell him. "Sure, man. I'll see you later." Jason took the notebook and hid it in his locker. He couldn't let it get lost and be found by someone else.
The nurse came into the room and took Sarah's temperature and blood pressure. She then went to the side of the bed to the baby in the hospital cradle and pricked his foot with a needle. It was something that was done to all babies to see how well there blood was. Jordan Jr. cried for a few seconds and immediately quiet down. At only three hours old he was starting to show how strong he could be. He was born Jordan Jr Delroy, weighing 8lbs and 5oz and 22 inches long. His light complexion and light blue almond shaped eyes were a mixture of Sarah and Jordan. Sarah had the long brown hair, light complexion and dark almond shaped eyes and Jordan had light blue eyes with a very tanned complexion. The nurse told her that she would come again in six hours and left the room.
Jason ran to his locker, took all his stuff including the notebook, and ran out the front door before anyone saw him with the notebook. He was afraid of telling people that he killed someone accidentally and now draws to calm his nerves. That night he had been driving, he had been busy paying attention to his cellphone that he did not notice Jordan as he was crossing the street. He had been driving without his license and did not want to get into trouble with his parents. So he did the only thing that made sense to him. He kept driving and never looked back. He started drawing pictures of everything. He wished now that he had stayed, because he heard in the news that the kid had died, and also because his punishment would have been lighter. Now he had to deal with that every day and hope that the police didn't come knocking on his door. He ran out the door and hopped in his red mustang convertible and drove off.
Sarah was invited to a club that was holding teen night with her friends. Her mom made her go and she had offered to watch Jordan Jr., who was already getting too big for his own good. At six months of age, he looked as if he were a year old already and ate just as much. Sarah felt guilty leaving her mom alone, but her mom insisted, so she went. There were many kids there some she knew some she didn't and one of the guys caught her attention. Jason saw her from across the room and thought that she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. He wanted to get to know her more, and decided to walk over to her. "Hi, My name is Jordan and I wanted to know if you would dance with me. I'll understand if you don't." Sarah looked at him "Sure. My name is Sarah." "Cool. Let's go." They go to dance and they start to talk, immediately they connect and continue seeing each other even after the night at the club.
Sarah's dad told her that they found a break in the case of Jordan's murder, which was amazing to him after a year of nothing. " The witness claims to have seen a red mustang convertible hit Jordan and drive off" Sarah's face dropped, she could not believe what she was hearing. "Are you sure, Dad?" "Yeah, I'm sure isn't that great? It's not much but at least we have something." Sarah did not know what to say, she was glad and angry at the same time, glad that they found a break in who killed her son's father, but angry because she believed she knew who it was and could not believe that they would have hid something like that from her. She ran out and left her father looking at her in disbelief.
Sarah knocked on Jason's door and waited for someone to answer. Jason opened the door. "Hey it's nice to see you. Come in." "How dare, How dare you not tell me what you did. Why didn't you stay? You wouldn't have killed him if you would have stayed. He could have lived to see his son. We were going to have be a family. And you took him away. WHY? WHY? WHY?" She started to yell and ram her fists on his chest again and again. He held her hands on his chest and placed his chin on her head as she gave up and leaned into him. How did she find out? He thought. "I was going to tell you, but everytime I tried, you'd say something that would make me scared to tell you. I am in love with you Sarah and I did not , don't want to lose you. I did not know that he was the father of your son." He said as he started to cry like he had never cried before, the tears he had been holding back for a long time now, and now knew that he had to make it right if not for her, but for her son, for he was willing to do anything to make her happy again. He held her head in his hands and still crying told her, " I will make this right. I will make this right. All I ask from you is, if you love me the way that I do, to please wait for me"
The next day the news came on that the driver of the red mustang convertible had turned himself in. He had been given three to ten years in jail, but because of good behavior he was able to get out in three. Jason went to visit Sarah at the address he knew she was at three years earlier, and was surprised to see that she was still there. Sarah threw her arms around him and told him " You made it right. Now come here and kiss me." They kissed like never before.

I love everything in print and showing my three children the joys as well. I believe that writing should be done whether you wish to gain from it or not as a way to express yourself. View profile
