In Honor of the Apple Announcement - What's Your Favorite Product?

Kristyn Parker-Meyer
Apple is getting ready for their big press conference today (check out a live blog at http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/09/apple-ipod-event/). It is rumored that they will be announcing the newest version of the iPod, as well as changes to the iPad and AppleTV.

I know there is a lot of disagreement over what is better - PC or Mac? But for those of us that have delved into the world that is Apple, what is the best product that you have from them?

I personally own a MacBook that I've had for several months. For the most part I really, really like it. I love most about it the really long battery life. As I type right now, I still have 4 hours and 55 minutes available. What I don't love about it? The issues with Word. I don't think that's an issue with Mac, it appears to be a software issue, but it's frustrating nonetheless.

We also have AppleTV in this house. I really like my AppleTV. It was kind of a random purchase that we for once did not look into before purchasing. Our media center at home was giving us issues, we wanted to get away from DVR for a while (long story), and there was AppleTV, gleaming at us like a diamond in the Apple Store. Not all of us were sold on it at first, my spousal unit wanted to return it within a couple days. I liked it though. I really like how it pulls the shared songs and tv shows from my computer. I love that I can listen to my Itunes through the TV. Love it. What I don't love? That it doesn't have Netflix! That's annoying. And I hear that's going to be one of the changes to AppleTV in this announcement...figures.

We have iPods. Everyone has iPods. I have the classic one, one of the first that came out. I do love it, it goes everywhere with me. But I have noticed that it is horrible with other electroics. If it's by a cell phone - it likes to spike the volume up randomly on me! Not cool, and very painful for the ears. I have to remember to keep it locked so that it doesn't do that. It also freezes up on me, which I have figured out how to resolve, but is still irritating when it happens.

Last but not least, we are the proud owners of not just one, but two, iPhones. And I hate them. My iPhone likes to put itself on mute during phone calls, or put a person on hold as it feels necessary. It also likes to take forever to change screens when it shouldn't. AND IT DOESN'T MULTITASK! That's the most frustrating, as you can probably tell. I had a Palm Pre before this and wish that I had it back. I hear that the newer versions of the iPhone do multitask, but I don't want to spend more money to get one. I just want this one to do it! Needless to say, it's not my favorite Apple product...can you tell?

In the end, I would have to say my MacBook is my favorite Apple product. I haven't had any issues with it in the several months that I have had it. It's lightweight, has an awesome design, the battery life is amazing, like I previously stated. I don't think I'll ever go back to a PC.
