In the Land of Fruit - a Poem

Amelia Ott
Deep within the jungle there lived
An outspoken and dreadful orange.
His neighbor was the trustworthy
And diligent kiwi.
The grapes of the land loved the
Kiwi and threw their vines at the orange.
Then one day the orange gathered
A team of loyal kumquats with
Swords of cherry legs.
The cherries wept and went to the
Grapes and they came together.
When they battled the grapes were
Pierced and overtaken. The cherries
Also fell but their hearts were strong
And they lived. When the kiwi saw
This loss he and his fellow bananas
Overtook the orange and sent him
Rolling into the sea of grape juice.
