In Light of Being, Chromosome 13
I'm still here in the shadow
With my veins all rusty
And my ego bruised
I've gone mad in the shadow,
The moths in the attic
Are eating at the fabric,
At all this linen unused.
I'm still here in the shadow
For our soles are dusty
And our prints are fused
I've gone mad in this shadow
Trying hard to step through
Dying to finally pass you,
This obsequious soma ill-used.

Post a CommentI really liked this. I relate to your feelings in this poem. I do feel that artist all are a little or a lot bipolar, I think it comes with the gift, or curse. ha.
Yes, and she is about as beautiful as it gets, both inside and out, and brave too. Thanks for such a wonderful response, JL Carey.
What a great comment Shirley. I would never feel ashamed of suffering from some form of depression or bipolar disorder, this is very common and I believe is triggered by a chemical varience. Some of my best friends are bipolar or have seasonal depression. Even Catherine Zeta Jones has been treated for it. Thank you for the wonderful comment.
Thanks, I learned something new tonight. I suffer from bipolar disorder, and who knows what defective gene causes that; they have not found it yet. And although I'm anything but retarded, some people treat me that way, or worse yet, like I'm somehow morally defective. But regardless of what others think, I'm going to live life to the fullest and walk as close to my God given dreams as I can until I have to "die so something else can live." I guess some people have such fragile egos that they have to belittle others for any weakness that they perceive. Keep up the good work and keep challenging my brain. You have the right stuff.
Facinatind, but I'm going to have to do some reseach on chromosome 13 to fully understand this one I'm going to log off now so I can look it up, but I will return soon to read it again with a better understanding. My curiosity is peeked!
Outstanding! Bravo.
good work!
"I've gone mad in the shadow, The moths in the attic Are eating at the fabric, At all this linen unused."...you describe well the current space...hope to find a path soon.
Wonderful job!!! Very thought provoking. We all sit in the shadows at times.
Yeah, we all want a better life, Jeff. Creative souls can be miseries at times, because we can get frustrated by the creative process itself.
