In the Light of the Seven Hunters

Walton S. Tissot
Eilean Mòr doff ye' hat and sunwise bow
In e'er pitch and yaw the swell and spray tall
T'was double odd amid Boxing Day morn
When Joseph Moore made fall at her quay
The Bothies of the Clan McPhail story held;
T'was spoke but well in misstep to the line
A right square meal or on the fiddle
For all and one in doubt did come lightly
Put back to the main in wait for windfall
Under press of sail and sun high in watch
Neither sight nor sound of man or bird
Left to welcome ye' to cold Eilean Mòr

    Your skillful use of iambic pentameter,and lovely turn of the word, brought my heart back to Scotland and it's old world beauty, there is great art in all your poetry, thank you.

    I actually would have thought it would have been about a pirate ship. I'm glad you told me that it was a lighthouse. Now it all comes together much better. :)

    Very nice. Sounds like someone has been watching too much Braveheart and Rob Roy :) I felt obliged to read it (in my head) with a Scottish accent.

    Cool! The style is unique and still very poetic. Although, without reading the description I couldn't tell it was about a lighthouse. I did however, get the idea of it being on the coast.

    I haven't read this style in a while, done very well, me thinks, the old man and the sea.
