‘In Living Color’ Making Return to Fox

The dynamic sketch comedy series which ran from 1990-1994 is making a return to the Fox network. The co-creator and producer - Keenen Ivory Wayans is set to host two upcoming half-hour specials in the spring of 2012 with the possibility of being picked up for a full-time series in the fall.

The series which is well known for launching the careers of many of its former cast members such as the Wayans brothers, Jamie Foxx and Jim Carrey, is getting a full makeover of new and talented actors to deliver an updated version of the popular comedy series. It has not been stated yet whether or not any of the In Living Color alumni will be making guest appearances and resurrecting some of the show's familiar and quite famous '90s characters.

The original version was said to have pushed the boundaries of censorship in the early '90s. With its urban-type comedic flare, In Living Color captured its viewing audience by producing edgy and original skits, along with a prowess of injecting just the right amount of politically incorrect satire that ultimately produced a pop culture following.

It remains to be seen whether or not that same type of sketch comedy can be streamlined into today's tightly harnessed society which often dwells on the ever-changing boundaries of political correctness.
