In Loving Memory

A.M. Morgan
Reached for the stars but instead the sky fell

To tell a story only humility could tell

A last breath and complete surrender touched the skin of an innocent face

While no one could have imagined this occurrence

But heaven only knows the answer when it comes to fate

The troubled waters of the heartbroken souls left seek only the counsel a sense of serenity can unfold

If foresight could have only been forewarning no one would select to travel this tragic road

One hundred percent of the motive will never be told

And because of this an unbearable pain leaves an empty hole

Leaving the unsuspecting motherless, fatherless or childless

Only to become the headline story of a loved one lost to senseless violence

Time continues to bear these unwelcomed wounds

But the world needs to pause to pray for deliverance

To find the peace and comfort in valuing life more than prideful and deadly vengeance

Rather than leaving a ceremony for families in loving memory of the fallen

For it can never quiet the unexplainable grief that continues to exist

And understandably because of this forgiveness has a hard time finding a place to harmoniously live

A beautiful expression of commiseration. A melancholy thank you.
