In Me You May Have Peace

Hartley Engel
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Lord Jesus, I do experience trials and tribulation in the world; heartbreak does not elude me, Father God. But you have overcome the world! And when I place my faith and trust in you, I too overcome the world. You make it so the testing of my faith produces patience, and I in turn let patience have its perfect work, which in turn gives me perfect joy.

When your Spirit comes and lives inside of me, I have the strength to withstand any hardship, any hurt, any hindrance. You take away my tears, you comfort me in time of need, Abba. I know that I can always come boldly to the throne of grace and find mercy, for you are my beloved High Priest, the Son of God, who has passed through the heavens and can sympathize with my weaknesses, for you were in all points tempted as I am, but are without sin.

I have been saved by grace through faith. I have been cleansed by your precious blood. You have given me eternal life and when I abide in you and you in me, I gain an inheritance that cannot be corrupted or defiled, and that does not fade away. I therefore lay up treasures in heaven, Lord Jesus, and not in this sin-stained, defiled, dying world.

Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord?

*Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased you in many ways. I believe You died for my sin and only through Your death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen

You know, I DO have peace! I just told someone that I led a great life before I knew the Lord - but now, I am living an eternally grateful life with complete peace and purpose! cheers
