I write this poem in memory.
Of you and me.
Nights I spent entwined in your arms.
Moments that seemed not long.
Enough.
I miss your warm touch.
I held on.
I was so strong.
You are gone.
I must go on, alone.
I fought so hard.
Love's death did us part.
But, forever...
My love for you, I remember.
I still hold you close.
This, may you know.
You left this world so cherished.
My one and only marriage.

So sad, but sweet. 5* Bridgitte
I dread for such a day when love dies. You have conveyed realities of life in the few lines. Much pathos and may you be ever blessed, Bridgitte. The reality is beyond our shores! You have touched the hearts of all here - siva
A beautifully expressive work of poetry. Thanks!
A beautiful way to celebrate a wonderful memory.
Wonderful and sad at the same time...... :o)
So sad and heartfelt. And like Patti said, so personal and bitter sweet.
Oh so sad, reminds me of the bible verse from 1 Corinthians 15:55-57:
“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
The "sting" is in our heartstrings. cheers, my friend, you will see your beloved again - we have this hope thru Christ.
