Remember the time little Sally announced to all of Walmart that mom couldn't forget the "good smelly spray" because daddy's feet stink so bad or little Johnny that couldn't pronounce his L's saw a clock display on an end cap started screaming " Mommy! Look! C*cks! Lots C*cks Mommy!"
It has all happened to me and I'm sure anyone with children have similar stories...At the moment we turn bright red, dart towards the next aisle to hide and quiet our embarrassing child and years later it becomes the funny story of "remember when..." that now embarrasses our child. But what if that embarrassing moment were turned into a mini sitcom televised across the world via internet? Well that is exactly what is now happening.
Brought to us by Leah Remini, Suave, and Sprint is www.Inthemotherhood.com. What sets this site apart from the rest is the light hearted humor it brings to parenting and its little mishaps. Real mothers write in about real situations with their kids, real mothers then vote for the winners whose stories are made into mini episodes on the site.
What a nice break in the day from poopy diapers, questions about why boys and girls are different or where they come from, or the many other adventures in parenthood. It is strange how all those little mishaps are so frustrating in the moment, but hilarious once put into an online sitcom episode. I still can't believe I hadn't thought of doing this myself. We all are told stories of the things we had done as youngsters and many of us now have children of our own that we still can't believe did or said what they had. This site is genius and hilarious.
It was nice to see I wasn't the only one who struggled with the potty training phase and even nicer to see that my potty training horror stories were nowhere near a nightmare compared to at least one mother whose child decided to use a store display toilet to do her deed. In the Motherhood even showed me there are mothers and mother-in-laws crazier than my own.
All mothers(fathers too), have genuine moments of sometimes wondering why they ever became parents in the first place, struggling not to cry or rip their own hair out. So the next time you're sitting there covered in peanut butter and jelly with bloodshot eyes on the verge of insanity, I suggest you visit www.IntheMotherhood.com. It is truly like a light at the end of a tunnel. I walked away from the computer giggling, refreshed, and ready to take on motherhood again. Thank you Leah Remini for the much needed breather.
