It was reported a few days ago that a man had to be rescued from his car after it was stranded on a cliff edge. He was following the directions given to him by his sat-nav. It told him to follow the 'road' he was on, it turned out that the road was nothing more than a track, still he continued on because his sat-nav told him that was the correct route. Eventually the route became too narrow and with nowhere to turn and too worried about reversing back down the narrow path he called the police on his phone. The police duly arrived along with other teams of rescue workers, on his being freed from the precarious position he had found himself in the police then charged him with driving without due care and attention. He will undoubtedly now receive a hefty bill for the rescue as well. This brings me on to ask the question, if the sat-nav had told him to jump off the cliff would he have done so?
Where has the common sense of these people gone?
Dental dilemma
In Germany, a would-be thief ran off after his being stopped by suspicious store workers, as he was attempting to leave the store he was apprehended and 68 tubes of toothpaste he was attempting to steal fell out of his coat and onto the floor. The local police are now investigating and wondering if they are seeking someone with a serious dental problem.
Peruvian's equipment disorder
A Peruvian farmer had to have an emergency operation this week to alleviate the severe pain in which he had been suffering after his having had an 8 day erection. It appears he had not taken any sexual stimulants, this is a natural complaint he suffers from called priapism, a constant erection due to a blood clot in the erectile tissue. Medical staff at the unit where he was treated are looking further into this problem and trying to find a solution before it happens again. A repeat could be not only painful, but also somewhat embarrassing.
Irishman's visit to Italy
A drunken football (ok, soccer) fan from the Irish Republic was found in the toilet of a bar in the southern Italian city of Bari, the morning after the two countries recently met in a world cup qualifying match. The fan fell asleep after a heavy drinking session before the match; he missed the game and was not discovered until the bar opened for business the next morning, still sleeping.
The golden arches- Is it a strip club?
McDonalds in Sweden is threatening to take legal action against a strip club after the sign outside the club is they claim a rip off of the famous sign. The golden arches sign, famous the world over is similar to the strip clubs logo, it is in fact a large 'M' with nipples. The club is called McDragans and McDonalds are stating that they do not want any association with strip clubs, the owner of the strip club states that they clearly have nothing to do with hamburgers, and it was clear that what was on offer was not fast food.

Post a CommentSleeping off a drunk during the game and all through the night? That's a true fan of Irish football! I love these odd little news clips.
Funny stuff!
Amusing.
Haaa! I don't know which is the funniest! That sat-nav is something else... When driving to Saratoga New York to see my friend it said that I had reached my destination... ummm nope.. I hadn't reached my destination.. I was on a bridge! I ended up calling my friend to come lead us to her house... we were on the wrong side of Saratoga. The sat-nav is only as good as the info programmed into it.
Oops, I meant, "sat-nav."
Interesting... There are some strange people out there. It keeps life interesting. Excuse my ignorance, but what's a "sav-nav"?
Great article! This was fun to read.
Ha! That last story--the golden arches--is my favorite. :)
