Despite all controversies, innuendos and hearsays, Michael was remembered yesterday in the 2-hour memorial service held at Staples Center, Los Angeles, California, not just as one of the greatest entertainer of all times, nor as a dedicated philanthropist and humanitarian advocate but, most of all as "the best father, one could ever imagine," according to his 11-year old daughter Paris Jackson whose highly touching remarks closed the said event.
Looking back on what he have gone through, what is so sad is that with all the contributions and achievements he had, he was criticized and judged damagingly by many on false accusations. Despite screaming acquittals and innocence, he was judged!
The price Michael had paid for his stardom was indeed too high. The public isn't aware of how much he suffered from all those fraudulent allegations and incorporate those with the changes, physical changes he had for himself. We never knew how much he suffered. Maybe only his closest friends and families knew how he anguished, and how he anguished so badly during his darkest hours, or maybe not.
I was never a Michael Jackson's fan myself but, just thinking and recollecting thought of his good deeds, things he did for Africa and all his humanitarian works, his powerful songs that moved the world, his love and concern for his families and fans, all of these didn't saved him from public's harsh scrutiny and biased judgment, for these my heart aches for him really.
And, my heart bleeds too for his kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket; for they just didn't lose a father but their only parent who have loved them so deeply and solely took care of them just by himself. Moreover, for me they are just too young to embrace this kind of loss; the grief plus the bitter scandal awaits their custody battle.
The music industry mourns too, losing one of the greatest talent of all times. From his compositions, his songs, his dance steps and unique style that made him different and excel from all the rest, we would all surely miss.
It is known that it might take ages for another "superstar," or another phenomenon to come our way, or there wouldn't be any at all. For there is only one Michael Jackson and that nothing or no one compares to him. Let's celebrate his life and cherish his journey; cherish the gift that he left us, the wonderful gift of music; his songs and his persona that will delight and entertain us forever.
To the king of pop, wherever you may be, we thank you for your talent, thank you for your music, for your heart and kindness that were indeed beyond compare, we thank you so much! And,may you now rest in peace in the heavenly arms of our Creator. Goodbye to you Michael, you'll remain in our hearts forever!
