In Search of You

An Immortal Romance Forever Cut Short by Life

Trevor Boyd
My mind wanders
Darkness fades into the cracks
I made to find myself

Starry sky
Blanket my footsteps
No one follows me tonight
I know it's the end
Again

The streets I used to talk to
Now call out for me to come back
Walk their lonely way just
One more time
I swear that if I could
I'd lose it all
To have you see me again
Without this mask

Do you remember?
It was this night
Only, before
Coming from the grave
I found you
And I wanted more

With just one look
You took Heaven from the sky
And side by side, hand in hand
I felt alive
But.
It couldn't last
I couldn't last.

That fateful night
When one soul passed
And one soul living
Touched

You told me that Halloween night
That you would follow me
We would be together
Forever
You whispered in my ear
"Just wait for me"
And disappeared into the crowd

I still walk that same path
And I hear that same laugh
Each time I see you fall
I wonder who killed who
But my mind always
Wanders back to you
My love.

What can I say? I'm a university grad who fell in love with the dream to write. I love philosophy, psychology, and talking about the littlest of things for hours. I feel twangs of insanity, I slip into space...  View profile
