Dealerships do not have examples on the lot, in general. There is a waiting list for the purchase of a hybrid vehicle.
Vehicles on the lot are few and far between. The ones I have seen are either floor models, or have already been sold.
The wait for a new vehicle as stated by the salespeople is anywhere between one month to six months long.
Mechanics are frustrated with the automobile manufacturers, who purportedly, are not sending out repair information, or order forms for books about how to repair a hybrid vehicle. Automobile manufacturers are equally frustrated with mechanics who make complaint calls to the corporate headquarters, complaining about the cost of educating everyone in the shop on how to repair the new hybrid vehicles.
Databases and hybrid vehicles are not yet consumer-oriented. In other words, there are few places for the purchaser of a hybrid car to find out about vehicle specifications. This includes useful repair information.
What salespeople have to say about hybrid cars is generally not a lot. People walk into the storefront, searching for a hybrid vehicle - the cars apparently sell themselves.
Travelling to different dealerships to find out more about hybrid vehicles, and receiving similar answers, has only reinforced the picture.

Nice hybrid article.
Why toy around with a hybrid vehicle when one can just as easily purchase an electric car or a solar powered car? As if I care about getting ten more miles per gallon, I want zero gallons of gas used per mile that I drive!
