The world lay in silence,
For she had suffered all too much.
Her children who had forsaken
Scorched fire upon her skin
And bled blood to stain it so.
They fought among themselves
Of quarrels so petty in vain
And of feelings thought in selfish minds.
The world lies in silence,
Her precious gifts derived.
The gift of life she had given them
So easily they could cast aside.
Silence filled with a million whispers,
Afraid to speak their mind.
To wish for peace and love and happiness,
Such simple things,
And yet,
With such high prices.
The world lingers in silence,
And she weeps her silent tears.
Her gift of life is forsaken,
Her children have all lain to waste,
No words can describe the emotion,
The emotion that she feels.
The world is in silence,
For there is no one left to talk to.
