In You

Tina Mrazik

The scent in the air after a new fallen rain
Takes me to place where I've been known to weep
For it is in that space of time and memory
That I have held love in its sleep.
It is within the heart, I can't control
Eyes gazing in a longing glance
Watching and waiting, time stands still
Waiting for the right moment, another chance.

It is within the scars, cuts that bleed
Like the pain inside my head
That stifles me, paralyzed
All I long for is a warm and safe bed,
A bed to lay my body upon
To dream a thousand dreams
A vision to enlighten me
A place to belong, live and breathe.

A love that is so timeless
That it stops the hands on the clock
A beauty with all its refines
Holds the key to every door closed and locked.
A love that completely comforts me
And hides me from myself
A warm hand that guides me
To feelings I've never felt.

Wishes always come in threes
As nightmares sometimes do
It is then I look inside myself
To find a better me, in you.
To know that all is possible
Even with all the longing and mistakes
To feel every nerve tremble
Like the familiar feeling when a heart breaks.
