Inception Review: A Truly Inspired Mind Bending Experience

One of the Greatest Movies This Year

Nicholas Ward
I just finished watching Inception and the story literally shattered my perception of reality. I mean many of the things Inception portrayed are as real as it gets. When you are about to hit the ground you typically wake up after a fall and just before the shock ... What if you didn't wake up though? What if you couldn't tell the difference between your dream and reality anymore?

Inceptions Plot:10/10
The plot line is relatively easy to follow, and it integrated into the movie very well.

Inceptions Special effects:10/10
The Special effects including the manipulation of the world, explosions, and gun fire, where all spectacularly done.

Inceptions Sound Effects:: 10/10
The sound quality was superb, from explosions, to gunfire, and the eery sounds of Limbo, they promoted total immersion.

Inceptions Immersion:: 10/10
With a perfect plot, video, and complimentary sound, it's hard to give Inception anything but a 10.

Inception: brief overview,

Inception starts off with Leonardo Dicaprio in a dream, though he doesn't know he's in a dream. It's all very frantic in the beginning causing your mind to lose its way. Only about 15 minutes into Inception does everything begin to make sense. From here the movie begins to take a turn from the idea of protecting your darkest thoughts and memories, to planting them and the plot thickens.

If you haven't seen the Inception trailers yet, you probably have no idea that Inception is all about dreams. Given the nature of the trailers, even if you had seen them you may not have come to this conclusion. However, this movie is in fact about dreams, or more appropriately the dream world, and how our realities can be bent there.

As the subjects in the dream world become enshrouded in a world built by an engineer, they open themselves up to their darkest secrets. In playing within the rules of Inception, a world with a locked safe may, once embodied with another person's subconscious, contain their most prized memories or thoughts. The idea is that once you put a person into a deep sleep and pull them into your created world, you may steal their thoughts. Whether they are passwords you need, bank numbers, or just some blackmail material it's all inside their head.

I don't want to give away too much about Inception, since if your reading my review it's likely you haven't watched it yet. However, I will say that the special effects in Inception are of the highest grade in the industry.. Inceptions only rival in the special effects department this year is the movie 2012, and no other movie matches the caliber of its plot.

Inception may well be the best movie released this year, so if you're ready for a mind bending experience you should definitely purchase Inception. You can check out the official Inception trailer here.

    oops had to edit that ... it read more like a game review, first person as if you where the one in the movie ... Maybe that's just cause that's how good the movie was, it made me feel like I was in the dream ;)
