I can see them slowly moving;
Tall white clouds billowing;
In the late summer breeze;
Rising high above the sea;
Steadily, they make their way inland;
Bright patches of light blue sky;
Slowly disappear from sight;
Beautiful puffs of white cotton;
Become dark, grey, and pendulous;
They are heavy from feasting;
Upon the waters of the earth;
The wind picks up speed;
And day becomes night;
Within a few seconds;
And shelter is found;
Just in the nick of time;
As the drenching water;
Pummels the earth;
Punching with an angry fist;
As it pours out its bounty;
Quenching and refreshing;
Washing away death;
While ushering in new life

We're having a scorching heatwave here in Los Angeles, so I really enjoyed your poem. I could almost feel the rain! A beautifully phrased poem.
Lovely.
Lovely !!....the rain makes the world "clean"...:)
Very pretty, thanks!!!!!!
Simply beautiful !...............
How did you know what the skies looked like today where I live? It has clouded up and rained several times today here today.... I'm sorry that I'm late commenting on everybody's work but I just got home Thursday, from The Children's hospital at the University of Alabama in Birmingham....have been there a week with Della, and yesterday I attended the funeral of a good friend's 15 year old son, who was hit by a train... it was so very sad. As usual your poem is AWESOME Sister! +*+*+* PEACE
