Increase Your Page Views with Subscriber for Subscriber

Increase Your Page Views and Make More Money. Is This for Real?

Chris Beason
If you've browsed through the AC forum looking for ideas on how to promote your content, then you've probably come across some interesting ideas such as subscriber for subscriber. You may have also received a private message from someone saying that if you'll subscribe to them then they'll subscribe to you. While this seems to be a good idea to generate more page views, the consensus seems to be that you're only going to end up with about 5 or 10 more page views.

The idea for Subscriber For Subscriber is that you pick 15 content producers and read and comment on 5 of their articles and those 15 will do the same for you. In reality this would mean about 75 page views. Of course you have to do the same for them. This will earn you a whopping 11 cents for reading and commenting on 75 articles. Then there's the time you spent reading and commenting on articles that may or may not have even interested you, you just read them out of obligation.

Now on the flip side, it is a good way to make new friends on AC and you just might find some articles that you don't need a strong cup of Starbucks espresso to keep you awake to read. However, if you did a chain type of subscriber for subscriber then you could get like 3,000 page views just for subscribing to 5 people and those 5 people subscribe to you and they have 5 people subscribe to you and them and so on and so forth. Now that will earn you a ton of money, a whole $4.50. Well, not quite a ton by one content producer's definition.

While I don't support participating in subscriber for subscriber to increase my page views, it is an excellent idea to get more involved in the AC community and to find some interesting articles and content producers. It's always nice to find an email in my inbox that says I've had someone leave a comment on one of my articles. If you're like me, it just doesn't feel the same to have someone read your articles and comment out of obligation. However, most of the time I will comment on another content producers article out of courtesy if they've commented on mine. Some of these courtesy comments have led to me subscribing to content producers without the ulterior motive of them subscribing to me.

Here's an idea, make friends on AC with content producers that find you interesting and ask them to share your articles with their friends outside the AC community. Write articles on hot topics in the media. While it may not have been a great article, I did get over 35,000 page views on an article I did about Barack Obama. After the election is over the popularity will probably die down, as it will with most everything that is in the media today. Tomorrow's hot topic will be someone or something else. That's why I've realized it's important to write articles on a variety of topics including those that won't ever go out of season or out of style. Of course seasonal articles will keep earning you page views year after year because they'll come back in season while style articles may take about 20 years to come back around.

The best advice anyone can give you is to write AND read! The more you write the better you'll write. The more you read, the more ideas you'll get and the more friends you'll make.

I had no idea what Subscriber to Subscriber was until I read your article. Granted, I am new here, but at first I was looking at a way for getting more views. Instead, I think I'm going to focus on all the work other people have put on here...isn't that really what it's all about? Awesome! Great article!

I like the best advice: write AND read. Reading is a critical component of being a good writer - at least, I've always thought so. And don't just read AC content (although, do that too). Read books! And news (papers or websites).

Good advice! I've had a couple people read articles and comment so I know someone is reading. It makes writing a little more fun and sometimes people will give their ideas to something as well.

Very true! It can be a bit daunting to read through several articles in a reciprocal reading group but I've found that the ones who are in it for the long haul tend to be excellent authors. I've definitely seen PVs increase! Well written.
