Wasn't that a good experience? Don't you always find one of the characters in the movie that has what you want or does what you want to do? How can this increase your productivity? Wouldn't it be cool if someone shot a movie about your life?
Well you can direct and star in your own movie today. You can become a professional actor or actress right now if you wanted to. Well just without the $20 million dollar paycheck. What I mean is that you can start becoming the person you would like to be and increase your productivity all with a little change of perspective.
You can start right now by beginning to think of your life as a motion picture already in the process of shooting. Only you can direct your life and only you can act out your life. Of course you won't necessarily have a $40 million dollar budget but you don't need one. Your movie starts with your thoughts and how you convert them into actions.
The key to a good movie is purpose. What the hell is the movie about? What is the movie trying to say? Your life is exactly the same in that regard. When you look back what will you say your life was about? How will others have viewed your life? What is your life's purpose? These types of questions determine whether your movie is a blockbuster or a flop.
Thinking of your life as a movie makes it tremendously easier to cut out scenes or experiences that don't need to be in the film. Think about a good movie. Every single scene has a purpose. Each moment in a movie essentially should bring the plot closer to the light. In a good movie, you'll never see a scene that doesn't tie into the plot. If you have a lot of experiences or scenes that don't tie to your life's purpose then why are you continuing to allow them to be in your movie?
Think of directing as planning out your life. Plan your movie out. Since your acting first depends on your directing, tackle this area first. What type of characters do you meet in this movie? Will good things happen to you, the main character, or will your movie be filled with turmoil and anguish? What scenes don't reflect that you're a productive person? Will your movie be a boring one with the main character following a script that others have prepared for them or will your movie be great and wonderful with you overcoming challenges and growing? This is what being a director is all about. Plan how you want the movie to go.
Does a director constantly and pessimistically think things in the movie will or cannot happen or does a director push his limits and do things that were not done before? These are some of the things you'll have to ask yourself if you would like to have a blockbuster movie. Whatever mindset you hold will determine the outcome in your motion picture.
Think of acting as doing what you want in your life. Take what you have planned and would like to be directed then proceed to go about doing it. Follow your life's purpose and tackle the goals you need to get there. It'd probably be essential to write out a list that shows the next things you can do in the area of your interests. Your goals and purpose reflects your interest so this small step can take you a long way.
With conscious effort, you can create the best movie that has ever been created, increasing your productivity in the process. The actual movie doesn't even necessarily stay in your mind because you will be viewed as a product of your mental movie. You won't be invited to awards ceremonies and the like, unless you want to be. Want to be the next president or the next barkeeper? Put it in your movie. The cool thing is that you can change the script accordingly if a scene isn't increasing your productivity. So with all that said, what type of movie what you like to star in?
