Increased Police Enforcement in Fort Greene
Neighborhood: Fort Greene
Brooklyn, NY 11205
United States of America
Fort Greene residents may notice more police offers around the neighborhood in the next few days. At the 88th Precinct council meeting, Inspector Anthony Tasso addressed resident's concerns about the increased crime rate in the neighborhood. According to mylittleO, crime has increased by 70%.

Inspector Tasso said that the police do not have as many officers on hand as it used to due to budget cuts, but there will be an increased police presence in response to demands made by Fort Greene residents.

Another issue that came up in the meeting is how Adelphi Street has been an area with the most reported robberies and assaults. The street is usually uninhabited and it makes it easier for crime to take place without other witnesses around. Inspector Tasso asks that neighbors keep a watch out for each other and report any crime to the police.
