Increasing Your Potential Earnings on Google Adsense

Earning on Adsense is More Than Just the Number of Clicks

Tony Payne

To be successful at earning money using Google Adsense is more than just adding the Adsense code to your web site or blog and waiting for the money to come rolling in. It involves making sure that your pages get noticed, so that you get visitors to them, as well as positioning the Google ads on the page so that visitors are more likely to click on them.

But it's a lot more than that, especially if you are hoping to earn more than just a handful of dollars from Adsense revenue.

Your Adsense earnings also depend on the Adsense keywords that are used to select the adverts to be displayed on the page, in other words the value of each click is significant in determining the amount that you earn.

I am not sure what the maximum amount that can be earned from a single click on an Adsense ad is, but the most that I have earned to my knowledge has been just under $5.

Now it's great if you can attract a lot of visitors to a page, and great if they feel inclined to click 100 times on Google ads on that page, but if the value of each click is only one cent, those 100 clicks will earn you just ONE DOLLAR! Now that's really sad isn't it.

I have days when the clicks just roll in, but many are just a cent at a time, and other days I might just get a few clicks, but when they are worth $2-$5 at a time, the money can soon add up.

The secret is therefore how to get the high value Google ads to appear on your pages.

The value of a click is related to the value of the Adsense keyword. Certain search terms are more costly for advertisers to bid on, and therefore Google earns more and pays out more when those ads are clicked on.

The most expensive keywords of all probably won't surprise you. They are all finance related. First comes Insurance, then Loans, Mortgages, Credit Cards etc.

The secret therefore is to create pages that have content related to Finance, and then high value Google ads will be displayed on them.

Back to basics though, it's more than just creating a page about finance and hoping that the right people will visit, those who are interested in Insurance, Loans, Mortgages, Credit Cards etc.

You need to create a web site, a blog, or a series of articles that are related to Finance, and then you have a better opportunity of your pages being seen and your high value Google ads being clicked on.

The problem still remains, however, that there is stiff competition in this area, and there are literally many thousands of pages fighting for a decent listing in Google.

So as well as doing a lot of design and keyword research, a certain amount of luck comes into play, hoping that your pages rise to the top and attract the right kind of visitors.

In a nutshell, find a niche where the Google keywords pay well, and work on dominating that niche. Then, financial success on Google Adsense can be yours.

I looked into it, and decided that it wasn't for me. I don't have enough time now to do all the things I need to do.
