Incubus Monuments and Melodies 2 Disc CD with 13 New Songs
New Special Edition Double Disc from Incubus
There are 26 tracks in total on the two CDs that make up Monuments and Melodies. This includes 13 popular singles, 11 unreleased tracks and 2 completely new tracks that Incubus has recently recorded.
The two CDs are broken up so that the first is called Monuments and the second is called Melodies. Monuments features mostly previous singles, but starts and ends with a new track. Melodies includes entirely unreleased material.
The track "Black Heart Inertia" looks to be one of the new singles from the CD, as the band played this on their recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.
All of the unreleased material is great and features lots of songs that will quickly be added to your rotation. "Let's Go Crazy" is a fun party song and songs like "Pantomime", "Martini" and "Anything" are classic Incubus. There is also an individual track called "Monuments and Melodies".
Highlighting the entire collection however is an acoustic version of the song "A Certain Shade of Green" which was from their 1997 CD S.C.I.E.N.C.E. The song (and that entire CD) was in your face, energetic and intense. The acoustic version of the track takes an entirely different spin on the composition and sound of the song. It's completely different but equally enjoyable, and all the more so considering how vastly contrary it is to the original version of the song.
Is Monuments and Melodies from Incubus Worth Buying?
Many people don't like buying "best of" CDs since they already have most of the music. Obviously this isn't the case with Monuments and Melodies from Incubus. You get a total of 13 tracks that have never been released before, which is an entire CD's worth and in addition you get a collection of their favorites.
As an added bonus you also get a special code you can use on the Incubus website www.enjoyincubus.com. This code gives you access to their "Vault" where you can view, stream and download tons of live performances, unreleased videos, audio tracks, photos and more. It's a great addition and makes the CD that much more of a must have.
Whether you've been a fan since S.C.I.E.N.C.E. or you're new to the bandwagon, the new double disc from Incubus, Monuments and Melodies, will make a great addition to your music collection.
