Indispensible...I used to think it
Necessary that others
Depend on me to take charge and have the right answers.
Each time and again, whether
Personally or professionally, it
Ended poorly, and blame threw its misguided daggers.
No one has all the answers...mine are not yours.
Delegation, motivation, and encouragement
Ensure development of self-sufficiency and resourcefulness.
Neither should one shed his responsibility,
Counting on the strongest to carry the entire load.
Excellence, coming from within, is true freedom.
Necessary that others
Depend on me to take charge and have the right answers.
Each time and again, whether
Personally or professionally, it
Ended poorly, and blame threw its misguided daggers.
No one has all the answers...mine are not yours.
Delegation, motivation, and encouragement
Ensure development of self-sufficiency and resourcefulness.
Neither should one shed his responsibility,
Counting on the strongest to carry the entire load.
Excellence, coming from within, is true freedom.

Post a CommentBeautiful poem, Coral. If I may chime in on your discourse with David, I don't think independence is synonymous with freedom. You csn be independent (not depending on anyone or anything) but still not free to act, think or speak as you choose. Independence, freedom, and liberty are often used interchangeably, but each has subtle different meanings... far too lengthy a discussion for a comment block.
Always subjectivity... good reply!
David...great point of discussion. Of course, feelings and/or definitions of independence or freedom are certainly determined by one's experiences and the lenses by which the world is viewed.
Is independence synonymous with freedom? If so... does anyone want to consider the lyric from Kris Fristofferson's song, "Me and Bobbie McGee" made famous by the late, great Janis Joplin, "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose ..."
This really comes home to me. Nicely written.
Awesome! I love this one, cheers :)
