The 4th of July is a busy day in Central New York. There are numerous fun events going on, and best of all most of them are free. Here are some great free events you may want to check out if you are going to be in the Central New York area this Independence Day.

Orchestra and Fireworks Spectacular- Chevy Court, New York State Fairgrounds

Every 4th of July the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra performs at the New York State Fairgrounds and this year is no exception. If you enjoy listening to beautiful music and seeing huge fireworks displays, then this is the event for you. Gates open at 5pm, but you may want to arrive a little earlier as it tends to get pretty crowded. A pre-concert will be performed by the Syracuse University Brass Ensemble from 6-7 pm. The orchestra will then follow from approximately 7-9 pm. The fireworks display will start on or around 9:45 pm.

Cazenovia Cruisin'- Memorial Park, Cazenovia

Come check out some really great classic cars and enjoy live music. Everything from classic automobiles to motorcycles and RV's will be on display. You can even enter your own vehicle for the display if you happen to have a classic. This event is perfect for anyone who is an automobile enthusiast or who just likes to look at these beautiful machines. This event starts at 5:15 pm and ends at 8:15 pm. It is located on Albany Street in Cazenovia.

Concerts in the Park- Lakeland Park, Cazenovia

Bring you lawn chair and blankets and get cozy enjoying some great live music. Kids can have fun running around, while the adults enjoy the entertainment. The concert starts at 7 pm and goes until 9 pm and is followed by a fireworks display that starts at dusk.

4th of July Parade- St. Ann's Church, Manlius

Bring the kiddies and enjoy a good old fashioned parade. I guarantee the kids will love it and you'll leave feeling like a kid again yourself. The parade begins at 10 am at St. Ann's Church and ends at the big tent on Stickley Drive.

July 4th Old Fashioned Chick BBQ and Fireman's Parade- Owasco Fire Department, Auburn

Delicious barbeque food and a fun-filled parade; what could be more enjoyable? Come show your support for the local volunteers. The Barbeque starts at 11 am and is followed by the parade, which begins at 2 pm.

Yes, they usually repeat the same events every year. If there's anything new going on I will post it.
