Indestructible Dog Toys for Your Active Pet

Lauren Romano
If you're a dog owner, chances are you've given your dog at least one toy that he proceeded to shred within minutes. Some take a little longer to destroy, but the result is usually the same- there are pieces of toy all over, you're out the money you spent for it and your pet is looking to you for another one. Give him a challenge by giving him a virtually indestructible dog toy that can stand up to the strongest chompers.

Jolly Pet Tug-n-Toss Dog Toy

This ball claims that it can be punctured without deflating, which is an excellent option for dogs that always seem to get a tooth or two through their favorite toy. The toy also bounces and floats. In addition, the handle at the top allows for a rousing game of tug of war and gives an easy place for the dog to grip when he's carrying the toy around. The Jolly Pet Tug-n-Toss Dog Toy is available at PETCO.

Extreme KONG Dog Toy

This toy is made of incredibly strong rubber and allows for endless chewing without destruction. There is a hole at the bottom of the toy that you can put treats into. Not only will the dog spend time chasing the toy around and chewing on it, but he can also keep himself busy and out of trouble by trying to get the treat out. This isn't great to throw; it's better for dogs that keep themselves occupied. KONG toys are available at many pet stores and online.

West Paw Huck Ball

The West Paw Huck ball is a better option for dogs that like to chase after a ball that their owners throw. Due to the shape, the ball will go all over the place when it lands instead of going in one direction. The ball also floats for dogs that love to play in water.

Buying various stuffed toys and rope toys may be cute for the time being, but it won't be so adorable when you realize you spent an exorbitant amount of money over the course of the year trying to keep your dog entertained only for him to destroy all of them. While a dog toy that claims to be indestructible may seem to have a higher cost than other toys, it can be worth it in the long run if the toys hold up to your pet.
