Northern Cuisine- Northern cuisine is very famous cuisine in the world. Most of the Indian restaurant offers north Indian dishes. North Indian food prepares with many spices, creams, & yogurt. They make some vegetables with curry. Curry (gravy) can be mix of vegetables, spices & creams or yogurt. Their famous foods are paneer (Cheese), Naan, Chapatti, Chole, (Chickpeas), & Chicken dishes. They use tawa (griddle) for making a chapatti (tortilla). Some Indian dishes are fried in vegetable oil. Some appetizers & food like poori, samosa, pakora, and bhatura are deep fried dishes.In north India, They also used Tandoor (a large and cylindrical coal-fired oven). Tandoor can be used for baking dishes. Some dishes such as Nan, Kulcha, & tandoori chicken cook in the tandoor. In north India, You can find so many items for snacks such as Chaat, Papadi, Bhel puri & so much. You can find many varieties of pickles. Their popular sweets (desserts) mithai, are gulab jamun, carrot halwa, kulfi, flauda, peda, petha, rewdi, gajak, milk cake, ras malai. They also make many kinds of laddu, barfi and halwa. Pakistani cuisine is very similar cuisine of north Indian cuisine. All meat dishes such as kebab, butter chicken, chicken tikka are famous dishes; they are also part of north India cuisine.
Southern Cuisine> >- Southern Cuisine is different from north India cuisine. All dishes cooks by different types. They mostly used rice & pulses, coconut; curry leaves in their food. They make all vegetables & curry with coconut oil. Coconut is very famous in south India. Coconut tree also find in south India. All vegetarian can eats south Indian food. They do not allow non-vegetarian food in their region. They do not used curry in their food. Their food is very healthy & nutritious they eat idli (rice cake) in breakfast. Dosa, idli (ricecake), bonda, vada are famous dishes of south India cuisine. South India famous sweets are coconut halwa, bread halwa & so many.
Western Cuisine>- Western cuisine is also known by Saraswat cuisine. Saraswat Brahmin's which lived at west coast of India. Most saraswat Brahmin's are vegetarian. They don't use garlic onion in their food. They mostly eat rice & pulses. Poha, rice are famous dishes of western cuisine.
Eastern Cuisine>- Cashew and poppy seed are used for cooking a dish. Mostly they eat seafood. They eat rice & fish vegetables. Sweets are prepared with milk. Many of the eastern Indian sweets are very famous in north India such as rasugualla( sponge cake ), Burffi & others.
Beverages in India> - Tea is very famous drink of India. They welcome their guest with tea & some snacks. It is a mixture of spices water & milk. It can also be used as cold remedy. Lassi is famous drink of India. Lassi is a combination of yogurt & other ingredients. Lassi can make with two types such as sweet lassi, Salty lassi. Sweet lassi can be making with yogurt & mango. Other salty lassi is prepared with cumin seeds & yogurt. Baddam milk, Nimbu pani (Mixture of lemon& water) is also famous drink of India.
